Emotional Danny Rose Admits to Not Watching Football

Danny Rose, the former Tottenham and Watford full-back has opened up about his struggles with football as he takes a break from the sport. Despite being without a club since September, the player appeared emotional as he revealed he has completely turned his back on football, stating that he didn’t even watch the World Cup. The 32-year-old burst onto the scene with a spectacular long-range volley against Arsenal on his Premier League debut for Tottenham. With such a strong start to his career, Rose’s recent struggles highlight the harsh realities and challenges that professional footballers can face.

Danny Rose, a former Tottenham left-back, made 214 appearances for the north London side before being loaned out to Newcastle in 2019. His departure from his former club, under the management of Jose Mourinho, was captured in Amazon Prime’s All or Nothing series. Rose eventually signed a permanent deal with Watford in 2021 but only managed to make nine appearances for the Hornets before taking a break from football altogether. On Sky Sports, Rose opened up about his break from football, admitting he deliberately avoided watching the sport during that period. However, after watching Manchester City play in the Champions League, Rose began to feel the itch to return to the game he loves.
