All Indian Football Federation (AIFF) devised a plan to improve the Indian team after a disappointing run in the AFC Asian Cup by conducting a Tri-Nation friendly tournament, including Vietnam and Lebanon, in October. This time they will be without their legend Sunil Chhetri who took retirement in June.
India failed to reach the third round of the World Cup Qualifiers after Qatar officials and referees robbed the Indian football team after giving an out-of-line ball a goal. India was leading 1-0, but then the Qatar player dragged back the ball inside from the outer line and converted it into a goal, which the referee gave. They could have replayed it, and everyone saw that the ball was out of the line.
The former Indian Football Coach Igor Stimac is being sacked after giving many years and lots of money to make an impact on the team, but he failed to do that as India is back into the 124th rank. He was given lots of money and everything he needed to improve the team but failed to do it, which was the right decision by the board to sack him. Many Indian football fans wished the same but did not see any improvement.
However, India is still to announce the new coach for the team, which is still yet to be decided, but Park Hang-Seo is the top contender for the position, taking his team towards the quarterfinals of the AFC Asian Cup in 2017.

Vietnam vs India: On October 9, 2024, the first Indian match will be played between the two sides.
India vs Lebanon: On October 12, 2024, India will go up against Lebanon.
