Liverpool vs Manchester City 1-1: The Last Dance Between Klopp And Pep Guardiola

John Stones and Alexis Mac Alister make it 1-1 for Manchester City and Liverpool in the final game between Klopp and Pep Guardiola.

What an amazing match between the two top contender teams in the title race, Liverpool and Manchester City, who ended up in a thrilling 1-1 draw match. It was the last face-off between the two greatest managers of all time, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.

The title race is now tight, as Arsenal and Liverpool are at 64 points, but Arsenal is in the 1st position with a higher goal difference. Manchester City is one point down with 63 points in hand but has the least goal difference. Because of that, they will have a hard time winning it as they will face Arsenal on March 31st, 2023, which will be one of their most important matches.

The match started off quite well as Manchester City pushed to score early as their star player, Phil Foden, looked well, but then Bradley went from the right back side to cross the ball to Darwin Nunez, who slid but was not able to make contact. The first goal came in the 23rd minute of the match when Kevin De Bruyne gave John Stones an amazing smart low cross, who scored their last goal with a low tap-in to make it 1-0.

Liverpool kept on attacking and building pressure on Manchester City’s defenders, and then it was Nathan Ake who made a mistake in passing it short towards Ederson, which Darwin Nunez stole, but then it was Ederson who tackled him to get a penalty, which Alexis Mac Allister converted. Pep had to make a forced choice to replace Ederson with Ortega.

Liverpool made a change in the 61st minute of the match as their long-time absent star player Mohamed Salah replaced Dominik Szoboszlai to give more power to the attacking front. The late chances came from Foden, who hit the bar, and then Doku, who hit the sidebar of the net. It was a tough match for Manchester City to play at Anfield, one of the toughest stadiums in the world, because the fans play as their 12th player.
