Ronaldo and Ramos’s Instagram trolling shows that both still have a strong bond

Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos have been teammates for nine years at Real Madrid, where they won many trophies together. But their friendship seems to have turned sour after Ronaldo left the club in 2018. Recently, Ronaldo took a cheeky dig at Ramos on Instagram, mocking his follower count.

Ramos posted a picture of himself signing some boots for his fans, celebrating reaching 60 million followers on the platform. He thanked fans for keep supporting him and also talked about his first post on Instagram, which was back in 2014, and now it is 60 million, which he thought would be impossible for him because of the support. He even announced giving 20 pairs of signed Mizuno Boots to the lucky 20 followers in his list, which he will pick randomly.

Ronaldo, who has more than 600 million followers on Instagram, commented on Ramos’ post: “You need another zero to catch me!” followed by a laughing emoji. His comment received over 100,000 likes from his fans, who enjoyed his banter.

Ramos replied to Ronaldo’s comment: “Don’t be too confident, Cris. Specialist in comebacks… minute 93 & more, hahaha. By the way, remember to participate, you have to use the #.” He was referring to his famous header goal in the 93rd minute of the 2014 Champions League final against Atletico Madrid, which helped Real Madrid win their tenth European title.

The exchange between the two former teammates sparked a lot of reactions from the fans, who wondered if there was any bad blood between them. Some speculated that Ronaldo was jealous of Ramos’ move to Al Nassr, a Saudi Arabian club that has reportedly offered him a lucrative contract. Others suggested that it was just a friendly joke between two legends of the game.

Whatever the case may be, it is clear that Ronaldo and Ramos have a history of rivalry and tension on the pitch, especially when they face each other in El Clasico matches between Real Madrid and Barcelona. They have been involved in several heated moments, such as when Ronaldo pushed Pep Guardiola in 2010 or when Ramos shoved Carlos Puyol in 2011.

Ronaldo and Ramos may have been friends once, but their relationship seems to have changed over time. Perhaps they will meet again someday, either as opponents or as allies, and settle their differences once and for all.
