In a remarkable display of skill and determination, India’s women’s hockey team secured their spot in the final of the Women’s Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier by defeating Malaysia 9-5. The standout performance was led by captain Navjot Kaur, who achieved a remarkable hat-trick, propelling her team to victory.

Navjot Kaur’s exceptional performance was complemented by Mariana Kujur and Jyoti, who each scored twice in the match. Monika Dipi Toppo and Mahima Choudhary also contributed to India’s impressive scoreline with one goal each. Despite facing strong competition from Malaysia, India’s cohesive gameplay and strategic scoring allowed them to secure the win.

For Malaysia, Zati Muhamad, Dian Nazeri, and Aziz Zafirah showcased their prowess by finding the net. However, India’s relentless offensive tactics and solid defense prevented Malaysia from gaining a significant advantage.

This victory not only secured India’s place in the final of the tournament but also guaranteed their qualification for the inaugural edition of the Hockey 5s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Muscat from January 24 to 27 next year.
