Beneil Dariush Breaks Down His Fight With Arman Tsarukyan
Beneil Dariush had a rough UFC year as he tasted defeat in his last two fights, losing to Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan this year. The Iranian-American fighter was on an eight-fight winning streak and was once thought to be the number one contender to challenge the light weight champion Islam Makhachev, but that was all before fighting the former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira, who knocked him out cold in the very first round of their fight at UFC 289, and now in his last fight, he got rocked by Arman Tsarukyan in some dominant fashion.
Arman Tsarukyan, showing his fighting skills, knocked out Beneil Dariush with a right hook, which landed perfectly on the chin of Dariush, dropping him on the mat. Beneil Dariush opened up about his last fight and revealed how he got caught by Arman Tsarukyan during the fight and what went wrong during the fight. Speaking to Submission Radio, he said:
Interesting thing is I studied his tapes. I never really saw him throwing knees. So, that definitely threw me for a surprise, I guess, you would say. Because watching his fights, he threw a lot of kicks, and he would throw elbows from the clinch. But I never really saw him throw knees that way, like in a Thai-style clinch. So, credit to him; definitely changed up his style, and it worked.

Beneil Dariush, with his last two losses, has now slipped to the 7th rank in the lightweight division rankings, while Arman is now ranked in the top 5 in the lightweight rankings. Dariush is looking forward to fighting in March 2024, and currently he is not concerned about the losses he suffered but about becoming the best version of himself.
