“I’ll be back”, Bo Nickal Issues First Statement After Losing His Undefeated Record

UFC middleweight, Bo Nickal’s hype hit a setback at UFC Des Moines, after getting his first professional loss against Reinier de Ridder. The former ONE Championship two division champion, Reinier de Ridder, dominated the fight from round 1 and put an end to the then undefeated fighter’s misery in the round 2 with a knee to the body. The American fighter, issued his first statement after the loss and here’s what he said.

“Grateful for the highs and lows. I’ll be back.”

Coming into UFC Des Moines, Bo Nickal was considered one of the most promising middleweights. However, it took the Dutch Kickboxer only two rounds to counter Bo Nickal’s wrestling and find the opening to land big knees. The loss destroyed the American’s hype and gave the trollers a chance to mock the fighter. Former training partner and Conor McGregor’s friend Dillon Danis trolled the fighter and said he was not on his level.

“One of the best American wrestlers of all time, Bo Nickal, ended up on his knees in the fetal position, gave up from body shots and didn’t even go out fighting on his shield. When I say these guys aren’t on my level, I’m never wrong.”

Dillon Danis posted

Nickal’s defeat showed that the fighter must improve before becoming a top contender. His last fight against Paul Craig, where he got a razor-close decision victory, was the first fight that exposed the poor game plan of the American, and now, with the latest defeat where his lackluster performance stole his undefeated record, UFC will take time to give him top opponents of his division. Though he got a lot of backlash, former champions like Henry Cejudo supported the fight and advised him to make a stronger comeback in the next fight.
