Jonathan Haggerty Reiterates His Ambition To Become An MMA Chmapions Next
After the ONE Fight Night 16 British combat sports star Jonathan Haggerty became the ONE Championship two division champion after beating Fabricio Andrade in a kickboxing match. Jonathan Haggerty, before fighting ONE bantamweight MMA champion Andrade, faced Nong-O Hama to win ONE bantamweight Muay Thai belt, and in his next fight with MMA bantamweight champion Fabricio Andrade, he knocked him out to become bantamweight kickboxing champion. His performance this year is staggering, and he doesn’t want to stop there. Calling out Andrade for the MMA championship fight just after winning the kickboxing championship showed his eagerness to claim another title.
Within the gap of a few months, Jonathan Haggerty claimed two world titles, and now he is training to get another one. Speaking to Sports Illustrated, the British champion reiterated that he wants to fight Andrade for the bantamweight MMA belt.
Next, I want Andrade’s MMA belt. I want to be ONE’s MMA bantamweight champion.”

The only fighter who held three combat sports titles was Stamp Fairtex, who was the kickboxing, Muay Thai, and MMA champions, but she couldn’t hold the three belts simultaneously. That’s what Jonathan Haggerty is aiming to do, and if he somehow pulls this miracle out, then he will become the first fighter in the ONE Championship to hold three world titles at the same time.
As of now, his next fight is not scheduled yet, but he had a face-off with the ONE featherweight Muay Thai champion Tawanchai. Fans are expecting to see a cross-over between the two champions, but it is not going to happen soon. Until then, he gave a hint to his fans that he was going to defend his Muay Thai belt.
“My next fight will be sooner than you think,” said Haggerty. “I don’t feel like you’re a champion until you defend your belt, so the first thing to do is defend the Muay Thai belt.
