UFC 294 has some exciting main and co-main events, but the main card also has some exciting fights. In the light heavyweight bout, fans would see Magomed Ankalaev (18-1-1 MMA, 9-1-1 UFC) and Johnny Walker (21-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC) in the octagon. Magomed Ankalaev will be seen after almost 10 months in the octagon. The last time he entered the octagon was in 2022 for the vacant light heavyweight title bout after injury to Jiří Procházka, but he failed to put on a performance in that fight as the judges called the fight a draw. Both fight fans and UFC president Dana White criticized Jan Bachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev for their loose efforts.
Magomed Ankalaev, after understanding the criticism he got after his last fight, promised the fight fans to fight more aggressively now in the octagon.
“I rewatched the fight a couple of times, and there’s no question that I came out the winner at that time, but I understand that it’s not just about wining. It’s about putting on a show. “I think we’ve done a lot of work and corrected the mistakes that we already had. I’m ready to show exciting fights and not just win, but win before the end of the fight”
Ankalaev said
Earlier, his opponent in UFC 294, Johnny Walker, criticized him for his lack of fight promotion.
“He’s very quiet. He doesn’t speak much. He just has to show more emotion, do something to make people want to see him fight. He’s a good fighter already; now he needs a little bit better personality just to promote himself. It’s for his own good.”
Johnny Walker said
Both fighters would fight in a light heavyweight bout, and Johnny Walker is expecting to get a title shot after winning the fight at UFC 294.
