“You Know What Would Happen,” Paddy Pimblett Warned Dustin Poirier After Nate Diaz’s Supportive Comments

Louisiana native and former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier is aiming his retirement but wanted one more fight before bidding farewell to his professional career. After his UFC 302 loss, he hinted at a potential trilogy fight against his former rival Justin Gaethje, who is now booked to fight in March against Dan Hooker. MMA community put another lightweight opponent, Paddy Pimblett, in front of the Diamond, but the latter rejected fighting him, in his farewell appearance. Paddy Pimblett has been an undefeated prospect in the UFC and has won 6 fights so far in his UFC career, with 4 of them coming from finishes.

Now, all statements seemed fine, but the UFC veteran and one of the respected fighters, Nate Diaz, spiced the situation by criticizing Dustin Poirier for ducking “The Baddy,” in fact, he said that the Brit is better than the former interim lightweight champ. Paddy Pimblett appreciated the praise from UFC veterans like Nate Diaz, gave him props for backing him, and warned Dustin of the consequences if he ever stepped in the cage with him.

”@natediaz209 knows his sh*t, he’s a real G. @dustinpoirier fight BSD when he’s rank 12 but not me, you know what would happen”

Paddy Pimblett won his last fight against King Green with a first-round submission finish, whereas Dustin Poirier failed three times to grab the lightweight gold, losing his latest fight against reigning champ Islam Makhachev at UFC 302.

It is not known as of now whom the “Diamond” will face in his retirement fight, but he is in talks with the UFC and wants his last fight to happen in his home state, Louisiana. An official update from the UFC on the Poirier’s next assignment is awaited.
