UFC former Bantamweight champion Petr Yan raised his stakes after a dominant victory over the rising Bantamweight contender Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC Macau. After the triumph, he called out the reigning Bantamweight champ, Merab Dvalishvili, who accepted the offer. The two fought earlier in 2023, where the reigning champ won the bout via unanimous decision. In a recent appearance at “The Ariel Helwani Show,” Petr Yan showed interest in getting a rematch with Sean O’Malley, who won a controversial split decision against “No Mercy” at UFC 280. He took a jibe at “Suga” by saying that the latter has been off for a year now and if he is “Pregnant.”
“I would lean towards a rematch with Sean O’Malley, but I don’t know what’s going on with him. He’s out for nine to 12 months so maybe he got pregnant… I really want five rounds, too. I believe it should be a good main event or featured bout on some big event. So, I think five rounds and it will be very interesting if it’s going to happen.”

Further, “No Mercy” posted the video clip on his social media handle and asked for O’Malley’s due date.

Sean O’Malley responded quickly and, teasing Petr Yan, revealed the date he would get a rematch against Merab Davlishvili.

Merab Dvalishvili has multiple options for his next fight, but the champ is not willing to give a title shot to Umar Nurmagomedov as the latter deserved less to get a title fight than the other contenders. However, the UFC has different plans. They are planning to get Umar vs. Merab done next year. Though there are no updates from the UFC for now, it will be exciting to see who will get it.
