The world’s largest MMA promotion, the ONE Championship, is set to deliver what it promised to be one of the most exciting matchups of 2025. The number two ranked flyweight kickboxing contender Takeru Segawa, who joined the MMA promotion for one reason: to fight the Thai star Rodtang Jitmuangnon, is finally going to get what he desired as the ONE has booked them again for a kickboxing bout in March 2025. The two were earlier scheduled to fight in 2024, but an unfortunate arm injury made “The Iron Man” pull out from the ONE 165, and the Japanese ended up fighting the kicking machine “Superlek,” who won the bout against the former K-1 champion.
“The Natural Born Crusher,” after facing a loss in his debut kickboxing bout at ONE, went on to fight Thant Zin, whom he defeated via second-round KO to register his first victory at ONE Championship. Right after the fight, “The Iron Man” and Takeru had a heated face-off in the ring, announcing an exciting matchup between them was around the corner.
Takeru, holding a professional record of 42-4, has all the weapons to stand and bang with Rodtang. The “Iron Man” was stripped of his flyweight Muay Thai title due to missing weight at ONE 169, where he faced Jacob Smith in a Muay Thai bout. Takeru, being one of the toughest to beat in the flyweight division, will soon get his hands on the man dubbed a superhuman with an Iron chin. Both of them have shown toughness and their lethal striking game time and time, but who will get the better of whom will be seen at ONE 172 when they finally come to beat each other at Saitama Super Arena, Japan.
Rodtang has all the wins on his side in his kickboxing fights at the ONE championship, but it won’t be easy against Takeru as the latter would enter as a crowd favorite in March 2025.
