TUF 33: Arshiyan Memon Got Knocked Out In the First Round By Imanol Rodriguez

The bad weather for the Indian MMA community isn’t getting over as another undefeated Indian fighter faced a crushing first-round defeat in the UFC show The Ultimate Fighter. Arshiyan Memon, who has been an undefeated fighter in the Indian MMA scene when faced the Mexican fighter Imanol Rodriguez. It took the latter not more than 1 round to get a victory as UFC CEO Dana White jumped off his seat to congratulate both fighters. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the night for the undefeated prospect, as he had lost his unbeaten record.

Both fighters from the first bell showed the intention of finishing the game. Arshiyan Memon landed a kick on his opponent below the belt, which led to a break. When the fight resumed, the Mexican landed a perfect kick on the body, which led to Memon’s retreat. Rodriguez went for the kill and threw some ground and pound, but Memon showed resilience, got up on their feet, and started counter-attacking with a barrage of punches.

The Mexican fighter absorbed that and threw a right hand that rocked Memon followed by more punches that pushed the Indian fighter on his heels though he didn’t get drop he was absorbing the shocks without resisting which led to the referee Mark Smith intervene to stop the fight. Dana White jumped and said this.

“This fight’s got me on the edge of my seat, man,”

With the latest loss, team Sonnen is now 2-1 against team Daniel Cormier. In the next week, Daniel Cormier’s Jefferson Creighton will fight with team Sonnen’s Andreas Binder in a welterweight bout. So far, Joseph Morales defeated Eduardo Henrique via first-round submission (rear-naked choke). Daniil Donchenko def. Richard Martins via decision and Imanol Rodriguez def. Arshiyan Memon via first-round TKO in episode 3 of the show.
