At UFC 316, Sean O’Malley will be fighting for the Bantamweight title against Merab Dvalishvili, and both fighters are preparing for the war. Before UFC 316, “Suga” shares his take on the vacant lightweight title bout between Ilia Topuria and Charles Oliveira, which is scheduled for UFC 317 later this month at T Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. Former lightweight champ Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira is a tough fight for the Spaniard, but the latter is a heavy favorite in winning the lightweight title. Former Bantamweight champ sharing his side said he is excited about the UFC 317.

”That’s the one where your heart’s telling you Charles, your brain says Ilia. Can’t count Charles out, Ilia’s on absolute tear. Charles does get hit, Ilia cracks. That fight I’m very excited for.”

Ilia Topuria, after becoming the featherweight champ in 2024, knocking out Alexander Volkanovski in the second round, cemented himself as one of the best in the 145lbs after defeating Max Holloway at UFC 308 in the 3rd round via knockout to become the only fighter to get a win against max Holloway via Knockout. After knocking out two veterans back to back, the Spaniard renounced the title to follow his dream of becoming the double champion and decided to move up to the lightweight division. His actual target was former champ Islam Makhachev, but the latter moved up to Welterweight to fight for the title.

Merab Dvalishvili will defend his title against “Suga” at UFC 316 this weekend. The latter has an opportunity to regain the UFC title from whom he lost it. “The Machine” defeated “Suga” at UFC Noche to become the champion, and then he defended the belt once against the tough competitor Umar Nurmagomedov in January 2025. Whether Sean O’Malley will get the belt back or lose it to the Georgian will be seen at UFC 316.
