With two weeks remaining to the first PPV card of the year, veterans and MMA analyst have dropped their predictions for the upcoming UFC 311 event, and former UFC interim Welterweight champ is a new addition to the list, Colby Covington has picked his favorite fighter to win at UFC 311 main event between reigning lightweight champ Islam Makhachev and no.1 contender Arman Tsarukyan. According to Chaos, Arman Tsarukyan has all the required skills to defeat the reigning lightweight champ, and speaking to Submission Radio, he backed the Armenian fighter based on his recent performance against Charles Oliveira.
“I think he can [get it done]. I think he’s he’s an athlete, look how flexible he is. Look how he got out of that choke with Charles that was impressive. He dug deep for that and you know he’s got a better coach. I believe in Arman, he’s an athlete, he’s got big power in his hands and if he believes in his hands I think he can knock out Makhachev.”

Arman Tsarukyan doesn’t want to take any chances and wants to do every possible thing to give himself an advantage over Islam Makhachev. In his fighting camp, the Armenian fighter added Adriano Martins, who defeated Islam Makhachev in 2015. That has been the only loss of the Dagestani fighter in his professional career.
Since their defeat in 2015, Makhachev has become the UFC lightweight champ, but the Brazilian has lost four straight bouts to finally end his fighting career in 2019. Both Islam and Arman had a fight earlier, in which the Dagestani fighter closed a unanimous decision victory against the then debutant Arman Tsarukyan. It will be exciting to see whether Islam repeats the same this time or Arman avenges his defeat at UFC 311.
