Ilia Topuria became the first undefeated double champ of the UFC after getting a devastating knockout win over Charles Oliveira. The former featherweight champion revealed that he was reluctant to face Charles Oliveira, and his only target in the lightweight division was Islam Makhachev. However, Islam moved up in the weight division to chase the second belt, which is what led the Spaniard to accept the fight against Charles Oliveira. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Ilia Topuria shared his thoughts on fighting “Do Bronx”.
“At some point, I was a little bit sad because I didn’t want to fight against him since the beginning. My real goal always was Islam [Makhachev]. But since he decided to run away, it has to be Charles.”

He represents good values. He’s always surrounded by his family, teammates, and friends. So, I don’t have anything else to say about him than respectful words.”
