Argued as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, Jon Jones certainly inducted his name into the GOAT list with his performances in his fights. Though some controversies are associated with the former UFC light heavyweight champion and reigning heavyweight champ, there is no way a fight fan can deny the dominance he showed in his UFC career since 2011 when Jon Jones defeated Mauricio Rua at UFC 128 to become the youngest UFC champion at 23. Since then, he had dominant performances while fighting against Rampage Jackson, Lyoto Machida, and Chael Sonnen. He secured victories over top light heavyweights for the next four years till UFC stripped him of his title in 2015 due to the champion’s involvement in a hit-and-run case.
Jon Jones was further stripped of his regained title twice after 2015 due to the usage of banned substances. After winning it one more time, he vacated the light heavyweight title in 2020 to move to the heavyweight division. In his first fight in the heavyweight division at UFC 285, he defeated Ciryl Gane via first-round submission to become the UFC two-division champion.
