“I can’t win with that guy,” Merab Dvalishvili’s Coach On The Toe Injury Before UFC 316

Suppose one fighter who is not afraid to share his injuries before his fight in the UFC has to be named. In that case, it is the reigning bantamweight champion, Merab Dvalishvili, who is known for his crazy cardio and insane wrestling skills. The champ gave an injury update to the MMA fans by posting a video of his broken pinky toe on his social media handle. The update provided by “The Machine” worried fans about the UFC 316 main event as on June 7, the Bantamweight champ will defend his title against Sean O’Malley, from whom he snatched the belt in 2024 UFC Noche to became the champion and defend it against Umar Nurmagomedov in January 2025.

However, this wasn’t the first time “The Machine” posted something that was considered normal; before his first title match against Sean O’Malley, he posted a video where he was seen cutting the stitches over his eyebrows by himself with scissors. Now, being the Merab Dvalishvili MMA fans know, he posted a video of his injured toe and said he would cut it off if he had to fight without it. Reacting to the video, the Georgian’s coach, John Wood, said this.

“I can’t win with that guy,” “I literally leave for a day and something goes wrong. He loves to rile everybody up and the thing is, as much as people think that’s stupid or this or that, he would never post something that’s going to take him out of a fight.

John Wood said

Merab’s coach clarified that the fight is still on despite the injury update, as it is not serious. Merab will enter UFC 316 to fight Sean O’Malley.

“Guys, if he’s posting something it’s really not that bad and he’s not going to be bothered that bad. I’m sure he broke his toe but every camp every fighter, even Sean O’Malley says it, is banged up and there’s a level of just injuries you go into fights with. That’s the way it is, that’s the way it’s going to be and that’s the way it always is. It’s just one of those things that obviously Merab likes to post about a little more than everybody else. It’s alright though, he’s all good.”
