The last UFC fight event of 2024 will feature Colby Covington vs Joaquin Buckley, as one of them will build himself as a potential contender for the title. Colby Covington will be looking to return to the winning ways after his last fight for the title in 2023 against Leon Edwards, which didn’t go according to his plans. Interestingly, for the last five years, he has had one fight a year, and in his previous 5 fights, he has only 2 wins on his side, whereas the rising contender Joaquin Buckley is on a 5-fight win streak and would be looking to extend his win count.
Earlier, Ian Machado Garry was scheduled to fight Buckley, but the Irish fighter decided to take his chances and accepted the fight against Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310; Colby Covington accepted to fight Buckley, and the two will face off on December 14. The co-main event will feature a featherweight bout between Cub Swanson and Billy Quarantillo. Both fighters lost their last fight, and one would need a win this time to rise in the contender list rankings.
