“You gotta fight like a fu**ing man,” Former Champ Brutal Remarks On Sean Strickland

Dricus du Plessis during his fight with Sean Strickland

The UFC 312 main event didn’t end in Sean Strickland’s favor, as the former middleweight champ failed to get the title back from the reigning champ, Dricus du Plessis. The South African dominated the champ for 5 rounds to earn a unanimous decision victory. Both fighters went to full distance and delivered a great show to the fans. There was a moment in the 4th round of the fight where the “Stillknocks” caught Sean Strickland with a clean right hand, breaking the former champ’s nose and forcing him to step back on his heels. That’s where Dricus went for the kill, but Sean, being a tough fighter, didn’t give up and fixed his nose to go the full distance.

Former fighters and champs had different takes on Sean’s fighting attitude at UFC 312. Some labeled him a “Warrior,” while others called him a “failure.” Former UFC middleweight champ Luke Rockhold criticized Sean Strickland for worrying about his bleeding nose rather than fighting. In a recent update from Ariel Helwani he revealed what the former champ said about the middleweight.

If someone breaks your nose, you gotta fight like a fu**ing man and sack up… This motherfu**er talks such a big game and then he bi*ches out and basically quits in a fight after he breaks his nose… When does [Strickland] ever fu**ing put his ass on the line and fu**ing bite down and really go for it through a whole process of a fight, not just the last 10 seconds of a round.”

“World title is on the line, which is all you dreamed of, but you’re more worried about fixing your f*cking nose,”

Luke Rockhold said

After losing the title bout, it is unclear who Sean will fight next, but “Tarzan’s” chances of getting a title shot again are bleak.
