Holger Rune Taps Tennis Legend Boris Becker as Coach to Reignite 2023 Season

Promising Danish tennis sensation Holger Rune has enlisted the coaching expertise of tennis legend Boris Becker to rekindle his 2023 season. Rune’s team officially confirmed the partnership on Thursday.

Boris Becker, a former World No. 1 and winner of 49 tour-level titles, is no stranger to coaching success. He played a pivotal role in guiding Novak Djokovic to numerous victories during their collaboration.

Rune’s 2023 season started with immense promise, featuring impressive performances in ATP Masters 1000 events like Monte-Carlo and Rome. He clinched his fourth tour-level title in Munich and made it to the quarter-finals at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon. In August, he reached a career-high Pepperstone ATP Ranking of No. 4.

However, Rune’s momentum waned in the latter part of the season. He has struggled to maintain consistency, winning just one out of eight matches since the grass swing. His recent performance in Stockholm was a testament to his determination and hunger to finish the year on a high note.

Taking to Instagram, Rune expressed his renewed confidence, saying, “I felt myself and my game more today than I did in a while. So I feel confident now in making the last adjustments and finishing the year strong.”
