India continued their dominance in world Kabaddi by clinching an emphatic victory against Chinese Taipei with a score of 54-36. The Junior Indian National team exhibited a cohesive performance and were quick to capitalise on every single opportunity that came their way. Playing with spirit and vigor, India showed why they are considered one of the best teams in the world and will be tough to beat in the Semifinals. Every player had an impact on the final outcome and made the victory possible. The nation is relieved that their juniors have continued where senior left off guaranteeing them a spot at next stage of tournament.
The 2nd Junior World Kabaddi Championship held in Urmia, Iran is quickly becoming an event to remember. After two back-to-back group matches, India emerged victorious and progressed to the semifinals. China Taipei’s defeat at the hands of India was a classic 54-36. Meanwhile, Nepal beat Iraq by a mere point in what is being considered the match of the tournament so far. Iran, whose team was significantly bolstered by Srinivas Reddy, former PKL coach and current head coach of Bangladesh, defeated Bangladesh comfortably by 39 points and advanced to the second consecutive semifinals. Last Year’s finalists Kenya unfortunately bowed out after losing to Pakistan in the quarterfinals. With such exciting play taking place all around, the remaining stages of the tournament are sure to be thrilling.
