Dinesh Karthik returns to RCB in a new role after he retires from IPL in 2024.

Former Indian wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after playing the knockout game against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024. However, It is hard to keep him away from the game of cricket as the veteran will be seen in IPL 2025, but in a different role. RCB appointed the veteran as the batting coach and mentor for IPL 2025. His three years of stats while playing the role of finisher in the RCB franchise were praised by the fans. The right-handed batter smashed 796 runs in the three seasons playing for RCB.

“Coaching at a professional level is incredibly exciting for me and is something I’m truly passionate about as a new chapter in my life. Hopefully, the breadth of my experiences as a player can contribute to the development of the group and bring added value. I believe that cricket success hinges not only on technical proficiency but also on match intelligence and composure. I am eager to coach and mentor our batting group, helping them to not only refine their method but also to develop the keen match awareness needed to excel under pressure. It’s also great that I can continue my association with RCB as the franchise continues to move from strength to strength.”

Dinesh Karthik said after his appointment as batting coach

Dinesh Karthik represented five IPL franchises in his IPL career, even captained Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018 to playoffs. Ahead of IPL 2022, he was released by KKR, and the batter donned the Red jersey to play for RCB and had a great run with the franchise. Though the franchise failed to win a trophy in all three seasons, he became a well-known face and a pillar of the RCB’s batting line-up, especially in the middle batting order. It will be exciting for RCB fans to see Dinesh Karthik as a coach and mentor in the IPL 2025 as the immense experience of Dinesh Karthik can make some improvements in the batting line-up, but that is yet to be seen.
