England’s Speedster Mark Wood Won’t Play For Rest Of 2024, Ruled Out Due To An Injury

England’s pacer Mark Wood won’t be able to represent his nation for the rest of 2024 as the bowler has been ruled out due to a bone stress injury in his right elbow. Before the fresh injury he injured his right thigh during the first test match against Sri Lanka but after close medical examination it was find out that the pacer’s right below was also compromised in the first test and he will not be able to play for the rest of the year. Mark Wood gave the updates about his physical injury on his Instagram handle.

“During what I thought was routine check on a previously troublesome elbow, I was shocked to learn I’ve got some bone stress in my right elbow,”

Wood captioned

England Cricket Board confirmed what has been posted by the pacer by releasing the statement. He will be in close watch with the medical staff of the cricket board so that he could make his return soon.

“Medical scans have confirmed that [Mark] Wood has a bone stress injury of the right elbow injury. He had noticed increasing stiffness and discomfort in his elbow during the Test series against the West Indies earlier in the summer.”

“He played a full part in the first Test against Sri Lanka at Emirates Old Trafford managing the discomfort whilst he was bowling. During that Test match, Wood also sustained a right thigh injury, which is being managed and from which he is recovering well.”

Mark Wood would be missing the rest of the test matches of England scheduled against Pakistan and New Zealand for the later half of the year.
