What Went Wrong For Pakistan In The Maiden Test Series Loss Against Bangladesh?

Pakistan lost test series against Bangladesh by 2-0.

Netizens cooked Pakistan’s cricket team after their loss in the 2 match home test series against Bangladesh. This was a historic feat for the Bangladesh cricket team, who registered their first-ever test series victory against Pakistan, whitewashing the home team with 2-0. But what is going on with Pakistan in the home test series? They have been winless in the last 10 test matches they played at home. Well, many factors contribute to such a pathetic run of Pakistan’s team in test matches at home, from fielding to lack of planning. The list is quite big.

Blunders Lead To Loss

During the test series against Bangladesh, rumors emerged that some Pakistan players were arguing on the field. Fielders weren’t active while guarding and leaked runs; the execution wasn’t on point. All the blunders made Bangladesh make a comeback every time they lagged in the chase. Some videos of fielding blunders also went viral on social media, showing how Pakistani players’ horrible fielding efforts made Bangladesh players get more runs while chasing the target. Shan Masood, post-series loss, accepted that they, as a team, were not learning from their mistakes and kept repeating them against Bangladesh.

Former Pakistan’s players held no bars in criticizing Pakistan team some even pointed out at Pakistan Cricket Board management issues. Former captains like Inzamam-ul-haq advised players to clear their mind and be focused on the game.

It is hurting that our cricket has come to this stage. Bangladesh deserve credit for their disciplined performances. But the way our batting has collapsed in this series is a bad sign. “I wouldn’t just blame the players because whatever has happened in the board (PCB) in the last one and half years and the captaincy and management changes have affected the team,”

Javed Miandad said

“Home series were always considered our best chance of beating the best sides in the past. But for this to happen the batsmen need to get runs.

Inzamam-ul-haq said

Pakistan’s next assignment is a 3-match test series against England on home soil.
