Why Indian Selectors Opted Against Sanju Samson for Australia Series

One of the most raised questions after the Indian team announced the squad for the Australia T20 series is why Sanju Samson was not selected for the team. Once again, the Indian selector did not pick Sanju Samson in the series. India will go up against Australia once again in the T20 series after losing against them in the final of World Cup 2023.

There are so many fans who are with Sanju Samson. We see his poster around everywhere whenever India plays their matches, which clearly shows that he does have a good fan base who want him to be in the team, but are Indian selectors being biased against Sanju Samson? is one of the questions and also the allegation put on the selectors by many experts and fans still there are many reasons why India is not looking at Sanju Samson right now.

Reasons why Selectors not picked Sanju Samson in the Team?

1. His bad form in domestic cricket is one of the biggest reasons why selectors did not look at the Sanju Samson. He recently played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament, in which he had only a 23-run average, scoring only two half-centuries even after being one of the skilled players.

2. Sanju Samson always throws his wicket, as seen in his 24 international T20 matches, scoring only 374 runs in 21 innings with an average of 19.68. This tells why he is not a good choice for the Indian team right now, as India has many options that are doing way better than him.

3. Ishan Kisan improved his batting ability quite well in recent times, and he also performed well in the domestic circuit to prove his worth to be in the team.

4. The selector chose Jitesh Sharma over Sanju just because of his amazing hitting ability. Sanju needs some ball to keep on going, but Jitesh showed that he can score 25 runs in 8 balls or 44 in 20 balls, which clearly shows why he is given priority.

The famous politician and current Chairman of the Standing Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shashi Tharoor, also tweeted about Sanju Samson, saying that he should have been given a chance in the Indian Team and Selector needs to answer why they did not select him.
