Barcelona flopped winger Ousmane Dembele said yes to Paris Saint-Germain on a verbal deal, but Barcelona is still confused about selling Dembele in the summer, as they want to give another chance to him.
Dembele used to be one of the top talents in world football when he played for Rennes and Borussia Dortmund, and because of his amazing performance in Dortmund, Dembele joined Barcelona for about €105 million, becoming at the time the joint-second most expensive footballer ever alongside compatriot Paul Pogba.
He played 127 matches for Barcelona, and in that, he scored 24 goals which is not the performance that Barcelona was expecting from a talented player like him. His injury situation has been one of the major issues for the club. As Mbappe is likely to depart from the PSG team this summer, they want someone like him who can be speedy as him on the ball and skillful.
PSG did not have a great summer as Messi joined Inter Miami after some conflicts with the club management, and then the Mbappe transfer saga went on to the bad side, which reflected the image of Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG already opted for his release clause option, which is about €50m (£43m/$54m) earlier, and now they even agreed on a personal term deal verbally, which makes the only stoppage is Barcelona. Paris Club already signed Marco Asensio and Lee Kang-In from their rivals Real Madrid, and if the Dembele deal is, then they will have a perfect trio to go forward as Neymar is also set to leave PSG very soon.
There is only one month left to complete the player’s signing, as the transfer deadline is September 1st, 2023. Mbappe is also in talks with Chelsea as they are offering Cash plus player for the deal, but it is still a mystery where Mbappe will go.
