U Mumba is a professional kabaddi team based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, the team is currently led by Surinder singh and will be coached by Army Kabbadi team coach Anil Chaprana
In their first season in the PKL, U Mumba were one of the most dominant teams in the league but lost to the Jaipur Pink Panthers in the final. However, in 2015, they made up for their mistakes and defeated the Bangalore Bulls in the final to win the championship. The following season, they lived up to expectations and became the best team in PKL history, reaching the PKL final for the third time in a row, beating Patna Pirates and finishing second.
However, on the eve of the season in June 2016, U Mumba lost several core players in the PKL auction, causing the team to fail to enter the playoffs in the next two seasons. But before the 2018-19 season, the owners made encouraging personnel changes, allowing Umumba to regain his sense of loss and advance to the playoffs after two failed attempts. The team finished the league stage with a landslide victory and the widest point margin of any other team. Although they failed to reach the top by a narrow margin in the big tournament, they were eliminated by UP Yoddha in the playoffs.
U Mumba has appointed sports commentator Suhail Chandhok as its new CEO ahead of PKL 2023. Expressing his gratitude and joy, Chandhok said, “U Mumba is a franchise with a rich legacy known for its great team culture and I look forward to building on the vision that has been created and all the successes achieved thus far .As the franchise of Dreams that represents the city, it is my hope that our franchise will continue to be the team that players aspire to represent, and we want our team culture to always reflect that as we create an environment where players can express themselves And become more complete players and individuals.
