Jiri Prochazka Wants One Of These Three Names Next

Former UFC light heavyweight champ Jiri Prochazka had an impressive victory over Jamahal Hill at UFC 311. The Czech MMA fighter knocked out “Sweet Dreams” in the third round of the bout to retain his number 2 rank in the title contender’s list. The first name that came out of his mouth after winning the fight was of the reigning light heavyweight champ, Alex Pereira, whom he had fought twice in the Octagon and lost both via knockout. He still thinks that a trilogy against Pereira is the way to prove himself as one of the best in the business.

In his recent appearance at the Overdogs podcast, he added two more names to his list besides Alex Pereira. He named Magomed Ankalaev and Jan Blachowicz.

“With Alex, I would like to fight him [as] my next opponent. But right now I don’t want to push it. If the UFC and negotiation about that wants to prove me with some opponent.  Like I said, I see three guys there from the top 5 in my challenge because I don’t want to fight other guys.”

Jiri Prochazka said

Former champ further gave the reason behind naming these fighters.

“There is Alex, there is Ankalaev, and third one we spoke about Jan Blachowiz because he showed a really nice performance against Ankalaev too. Against Alex too. So One of these three for me. I like to stand. For me right now this year it really does not matter. I know I’m going to the top right now. Just give me some opponents, and I am going to prove that. I want to prove that I am the champion.”

He further said

So far, the former champ is not looking to rush towards the title and wants to fight among the top 5 to prove that he deserves a trilogy against “Poatan.”
