“I’ll come back stronger” Kai Asakura Opens Up After His Loss At UFC 310

Kai Asakura vs Alexandre Pantoja during UFC 310

At UFC 310, UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja derailed the hype train of the Japanese MMA Kai Asakura, who got a title shot on his UFC debut. The main event action didn’t last long as the “Cannibal” with the first bell started charging towards Kai Asakura. Though the Japanese fighter hit some hard shots, it looked like it wasn’t doing anything to the champ. A hard knee to the face couldn’t stop Pantoja, who landed some shots in the face of the challenger. The first round went back and forth as both fighters showed their game on the feet, but when it went to the ground in Round 2, Pantoja choked out Asakura to defend his title.

After losing the fight, Kai Asakura addressed his loss and apologized to his fans on his social media handles for the performance.

“Thank you so much for all your support, I’m sorry I couldn’t repay you with results. He was a great champion and I was still weak. I didn’t reach it this time, but I’ll definitely climb up and become the champion. I’ve always done that, and I’ll keep doing it until I achieve it. I’ll come back stronger.”

Asakura said.

Alexandre Pantoja, with his victory over Asakura, cemented his place as one of the greatest flyweights in the UFC as he defeated all the top contenders already, and now, when UFC offered him a challenge to beat a rising star whom UFC signed recently, he defeated him as well. Post-fight, Pantoja called out another flyweight GOAT, now retired Demetrious Johnson, for a fight, but it won’t be happening anytime soon, looking at the relations the latter shares with the UFC. Meanwhile, Asakura can increase his skills as he is just 31 years old and can get another title shot if he can beat other top contenders.
