“He wants to fight everybody,” Dana White Reacted To Alex Pereira Coming Down To Middleweight

Alex Pereira’s will to challenge himself in MMA is something that is in front of MMA fans; the light heavyweight champ has fought two times so far in 2024, winning both of his fights. In fact, he defended his light heavyweight title twice this year and will fight Khalil Rountree in October for a straight third title defense this year. His unimaginable strength made him a fan favorite, and UFC president Dana White is no exception, as he knows the importance of “Poatan” in the roster. When asked what he thinks of Alex Pereira moving down to middleweight again after fighting Khalil Rountree Jr., Dana White, praising Alex Pereira, said this.

“My take on him is he’s f*cking nasty. That’s my take on him. He wants to move up, he wants to move down. That’s why people love him. Those are the type of fighters people love. Pereira wants to fight everybody. I love it.”

Alex Pereira expressed his will to fight at middleweight again after Dricus du Plessis beat his rival Israel Adesanya at UFC 305. But what does the UFC president think of that? According to Dana White, the UFC isn’t planning to get this matchup done for now as several fights are lined up in different weight classes, but he didn’t deny a super battle between Alex Pereira and Dricus du Plessis and would plan on that later.

“The thing that’s great about it is, first of all, I said a minute ago it’s why everybody loves him and it’s great, but it also gives us a ton of options as we’re matchmaking. Should we do this? Should we do that? Shouldn’t we do this? Shouldn’t we do that? It’s a good problem to have with a guy like him.”
