To be the Coach of the Indian Cricket Team is one of the most challenging jobs in the cricket world because the expectation now from them is to take the team to the top and win all the ICC titles, but these are not the only challenges that the Indian Cricket Team goes through.
Indian Cricket Team debuted officially as the international team in 1932 when they played against the England team led by CK Nayudu, and they lost the match by 158 runs. Skip to the 2024 Indian team, which achieved so much from there to here, winning two ODI World Cups and two T20 World Cups. They also won the Champions Trophy, and the only ICC trophy left to win is the WTC (World Test Championship), in which they came out as runner-up both times.
Even though the Indian Cricket Team officially started to play in 1931, they did not have an official coach until 1970, and in 1971, Keki Tarapore was the first Indian coach who took the job to shape the Indian team. He had a famous incident with Kapil Dev during the under-19 coaching camp when he complained to him that two chapatis were not enough for him as the fast bowler. In reply, Keki Tarapore said that there are no fast bowlers in India.

Lalchand Rajput: After the horrific exit from the group stage in 2007 50 over the World Cup, the whole Indian team changed as Dhoni was given the captaincy for the first-ever T20 World Cup in which many senior players of India had to leave the team. However, Lalchand was not the official coach but the interim coach. The amazing thing happened when India won their 1st T20 World Cup.

Before becoming the coach of the Indian senior team, he was on the u-19 team, where he groomed many great talents like Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, Sarfaraz Khan, Ishan Kishan, and Rishabh Pant. They are the players who played under Dravid in U-19 and the Indian senior team.
Gautam Gambhir: He is the newest Head Coach, and everyone has very high expectations from him as he recently won the IPL title with the KKR. He is one of the most competitive coaches and is very open to making a statement, which he already did on the first tour when asked about Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli.
