Manish Krishnanand Pandey’s domestic career started when he got the opportunity to play in local tournaments for Karnataka. At that time, Satish, a well-known name in the cricket community, coached him. Pandey was later inducted into Karnataka’s Ranji team, and during the Ranji trophy (2009-2010), he scored 882 runs, the highest in that season. He scored four centuries and five fifties with an impressive average of 63 during that season and took his team to the finals of the Ranji trophy(2009-2010). unfortunately, they ended up on the losing side against Mumbai despite his fabulous innings of 144 runs during the match’s fourth innings. Since then, he become a top prospect for inclusion on the Indian team.

IPL Career

Manish Pandey was inducted into the Mumbai Indians’ roster during the inaugural season of the IPL. But, the right-handed batter had a rough season with the bat, scoring just three runs in the three matches he played. In the following season, when he was acquired by Royal Challengers Bengaluru(RCB), the batter showed his potential to score big runs in the limited overs format. Pandey became the first Indian batter to score a century in the IPL as he played a flamboyant innings of 114 runs against Deccan Chargers(now defunct). After a spectacular season with the bat in 2009, his performance dipped, but in 2014, while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the final, his innings of 94 runs took his team to its second title win.
