RCB vs DC: Delhi Capitals maintained their unbeaten streak in the IPL 2025 by winning the fourth consecutive match after defeating RCB by 6 wickets in the match 24th of the league.
After winning the toss, Delhi Capitals chose to bowl first, and the decision to bowl first on a batting track backfired when Phil Salt started smashing bowlers in the powerplay. RCB was 53 for none till the 3rd over of the match, with Phil Salt batting on 36 runs, but in the 4th over, a miscommunication between Virat Kohli and Phil Salt led to the dismissal of Phil Salt. RCB’s batting line-up crumbled in front of DC’s bowling attack as they lost 4 wickets in 10 overs. Nothing was working for RCB as they lost wickets after wickets. Tim David’s 37 runs in 19 balls made RCB reach the score of 163 runs at the end of 20 overs.
Chasing the target of 164 runs, DC’s start wasn’t good as they lost both openers, Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser McGurk, early in the chase. Abishek Porel was next to get dismissed. Skipper Axar Patel tried to build a partnership with KL Rahul, but after scoring 15 runs, he got caught at long-off. From there, KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs partnered, where the former scored his fifty and reached 93 runs, finishing the game in 17.5 overs to win it by 6 wickets.

IPL 2025, Match 24th, RCB vs DC: Captains’ Corner
When we won three in three, thought that four out of four could also be possible (smiles). Everyone is playing with confidence, it feels nice (to have won four out of four). We talk about match-ups and what is happening off the surface. I felt they like to face pacers, so tried to hold them back. Then the ball was spinning and bouncing, so thought of bowling spin in the powerplay. But the 19th over (that he bowled) was too tactical (laughs). Kuldeep has been there for many years and to do it consistently on this big platform is a good thing. Vipraj, in the first two games, was feeling pressure but the way he bowled in the last game and this game, he is confident. Day by day, he is improving. He is giving the captain confidence and no better thing than that.

The way we have seen the wicket earlier, it was quite different. We thought it would be a nice batting track. We have not batted well. Batters are in a good frame of mind, they have shown nice intent. 80 for one, and then 90 for four, that is not acceptable (on this track). We were lacking in assessing the conditions and the situation. The way David accelerated at the end, it was really amazing. The powerplay, the way the fast bowlers bowled, it was really special. (On their next game away to Jaipur) We are not keeping things in our mind that we have a good away record. The simple thing is that we have to play good cricket.
