In a spectacular display of defensive prowess, Bengal Warriors snapped their four-game winless streak by defeating Telugu Titans with a commanding 46-26 victory in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 10) match at the DOME by NSCI in Mumbai. Warriors’ defender Vaibhav Garje emerged as the star player of the game, securing an impressive 9 tackle points, while Titans captain Pawan Sehrawat achieved yet another Super 10.
Despite missing their captain and ace raider Maninder Singh, Bengal Warriors seized the opportunity for others to shine, with Nitin Kumar making a significant impact with his dynamic raids. The defensive duo of captain Shubham and Vaibhav showcased brilliance throughout the evening, troubling the Telugu Titans’ defense.
Bengal Warriors asserted their dominance early on, taking only seven minutes to secure the first all-out and establishing a commanding 10-4 lead. Pawan struggled to find his form, and the Titans’ raiding unit faced challenges against the resolute Warriors’ defense. Vaibhav’s exceptional tackle on Pawan added to the Warriors’ lead, culminating in a second all-out just before half-time, with a substantial 17-point advantage (27-10) for the former champions.
The second half witnessed Telugu Titans’ resilient efforts to mount a comeback. Pawan led a quick series of points, inflicting an all-out in the 33rd minute and reducing the Warriors’ lead to 9 points (33-24). However, Nitin Kumar thwarted any hopes of a Titan comeback, escaping tackles and inflicting a third all-out on the Titans. With less than two minutes remaining, the scoreline favored Bengal Warriors at 42-24. Shubham sealed the victory with crucial tackles on Pawan and Robin Chaudhary, achieving his High 5 and securing the Warriors’ fourth victory of the season.
Bengal Warriors’ outstanding defensive performance showcased resilience and strategic brilliance, marking a triumphant return to the win column in PKL 10.
