Max Holloway Teases A Rematch Against Charles Oliveira After 10 Years

UFC reigning BMF champ Max Holloway has had a tough last fight as he fell short of getting his hand on the featherweight gold at UFC 308 when he fought the reigning featherweight champ Ilia Topuria. Max Holloway was never been knocked out in his professional career before entering the Octagon at UFC 308 but Ilia Topuria became the first to turn the tables and knocked him out in the 3rd round to defend his title against former featherweight champ. Now, replying to the former lightweight champ Charles Oliveira’s call-out, the Hawaiian accepted to fight him in the International fight week.

Charles Oliveira has called-out lightweight champ Islam Makhachev post UFC 311 victory, but the champ after his record 4th title defense is looking for his next fight in the October 2025. Charles Oliveira is not willing to wait for that long for his next fight and is ready to take on former featherweight champ Max Holloway.

We’ll have to see when [Makhachev] will want to come back. If he only wants to fight in October, I definitely want to fight before that, so why not challenge Max Holloway for the BMF belt? We met before, but I suffered an injury right in the beginning, so there wasn’t an actual fight. I think we deserve to make this fight happen.”

BMF champ, Max Holloway replied to the call-out by writing three words.

International Fight Week?

Holloway replied

Holloway hasn’t defended his BMF belt so far, and a fight between these two after 10 years definitely makes it exciting. Ten years ago, when the two faced each other in a fight night event in Canada, the Brazilian was met with an unexpected injury in the first round, which caused the Referee to end the fight. If UFC booked the battle between these two, it would make the fight card great, as both are fan favorites.
