GT vs DC: The 32nd match of the IPL 2024 between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals was all about better coordination, brilliant fielding effort, leadership, and a clinical bowling attack. Delhi Capitals beat Gujarat Titans by six wickets at the latter’s home ground to register their third victory in the league. Gujarat Titans were nowhere in the match, as Delhi Capitals capitalized on every opportunity to win. This was Gujarat Titans’ second loss at their home ground this year.
After winning the toss, DC’s skipper decided to bowl first, which paid off. The Pacers of DC gave the start needed, and Ishant Sharma hit in the second over of the match and picked the wicket of Shubman Gill. In the fourth over, Gill’s opening partner Wriddhiman Saha got out; in the fifth over of the game, the sharp fielding effort of Sumit Kumar led to another dismissal, and then GT’s batting order collapse started with some brilliant wicket-keeping from Rishabh Pant and great bowling attack ended GT’s batting innings on just 89 runs.
Chasing a total of meager 90 runs, DC” ‘s start was explosive as they wanted to finish the match as early as possible to improve their NRR. DC opened their innings with Prithvi Shaw and Jake Fraser-McGurk, where the latter only spent a little bit of time and started depositing balls out of the boundary cushion before getting dismissed. He already scored 20 runs. Batter afterward didn’t let the run rate drop. An explosive innings from Shai Hope almost finished the business for DC, though Rashid Khan dismissed him; it was too late for GT to make a comeback as Rishabh Pant and Co. won the match by six wickets in 8.5 overs.

IPL 2024 32nd Match GT vs DC: Captains Corner
Our batting was very average, and it is important to move on and come back strong. The wicket was alright, if you see some of the dismissals, it had nothing to do with the pitch. Poor shot selection I would say. “When the opposition are chasing 89, unless someone takes a double hat-trick, the opposition will always be in the game. This is just the halfway mark of the season for us, we have won 3 and hopefully we win another 5-6 from the next 7 like in the last couple of years.”
Shubman Gill said post-match
“Lots of things to be pleased about. We spoke about champion mindset and our team spoke about it. (Best bowling effort of IPL 2024?) Definitely one of the best. Still early in the tournament and we can still improve from here. The only thought process before coming to the field is that I wanted to come in in a better way. Only thought when I was doing my rehab. Each and every match I am loving the process and being on the ground.
