PKL 11, Match 36: U Mumba vs Dabang Delhi KC| U Mumba’s Collective Effort Lead Them To Their 3rd Win

Dabang Delhi raider tackled by U Mumba Defenders

After getting a loss in their last match, U Mumba made a comeback in Match 36 of the PKL 11 to get a comfortable win over Dabang Delhi KC. It was a good start for both teams as defenders were doing their work in the initial minutes of the first half; later, raiders of U Mumba started outclassing the Dabang Delhi’s defense as Manjeet Singh started bringing points for his team in raids. This season’s top raider, Ashu Malik, started late, but his raids gave confidence to the Dabang Delhi’s squad as defenders began contributing, and the battle got intense. Both teams were cautious about giving points to the opposition as the first half ended with Mumba leading by 1 point with a scoreline of 14-13.

At the start of the second half, Manjeet Singh did a multi-point raid and brought down Delhi to just 1 man; though Ashish saved Delhi for a brief by bringing a touchpoint, it was Amirmohammad Zafardanesh whose two-point raid helped U Mumba inflict the first all-out of the game as Mumbai started leading the scoreline. Ashu Malik didn’t give up; he was fighting alone from his side in raids and scored his Super 10, but U Mumba’s defenders weren’t letting any raider take points easily. With 5 minutes remaining, Delhi was lagging by 5 points. The Super tackle of Ashu Malik in the last 2 minutes of the game made it impossible for Dabang Delhi to win the match, as they lost by a point difference of 6.
