Bengal Warriorz vs Haryana Steelers: Bengal Warriorz registered its fourth win in the PKL 11 by defeating the table-toppers, Haryana Steelers. It was an unexpected turn of events for those who were rooting for the Haryana Steelers to win the game, as Maninder Singh and Mayur Kadam stole the show.
Maninder Singh, after becoming the only second raider in the Pro Kabaddi League history to score more than 1500 points in his last game, didn’t get the start he was looking for as the Steelers defense tackled the “Mighty” and kept him off the mat. Both teams took a calculated approach. The points gap wasn’t too much for Bengal Warriors as both teams stood at a level during the first 10 minutes of the first half. Pranay Rane from Bengal Warriorz was leading the raid points chart during the match as Maninder Singh struggled a bit with the final minutes of the first half; Bengal Warriorz inflicted an all-out on the Steelers as the scoreline stands at 17-17.
From the start of the second half, Maninder Singh started his aggressive play and dismantled Haryana’s defense. There was no stopping Maninder Singh as the raider’s relentless pressure helped Bengal Warriorz inflict another all-out during the final minutes of the second half. The match ended with Bengal Warriorz leading the scoreline by 7 points.
Though Haryana Steelers lost the game, they are still at the top of the points table. Their next match is against Patna Pirates on 6th December.
